Lighting Installation in Forest Hill

We install recessed lights, ceiling fans, pendants, under-cabinet lighting and outdoor fixtures. We walk the room with you first, mark where each light goes and price the job before work starts, so the result fits how you use your home and your budget.

Light Where You Need It, Wired the Right Way

Most lighting jobs start with a simple complaint. The kitchen is dim at the counter. The living room has one fixture in the middle and dark corners. The back patio has nothing at all. We fix that by adding fixtures, moving them or swapping old ones for LED.

The part people skip is planning. Spacing, switch locations, dimmer choice and how the wire gets from point A to point B decide whether new lights look right and last. We sort that out on paper before anyone climbs into the attic. If you want to do one room now and another next year, we can lay out both and wire the first so the second is easier later.

What a Lighting Job Includes

Layout and spacing

We mark fixture spots on the ceiling with you so recessed lights land evenly and clear joists, ducts and vents. You see the plan before we cut.

Recessed and wafer LED lights

Thin wafer LEDs fit where old cans won't, including tight spaces under ductwork. They run cool and use far less power than the fixtures they replace.

Ceiling fans on the right box

A fan needs a fan-rated box tied to framing. A light box can loosen and let a fan wobble or drop, so we check it and replace it when needed.

Switches, dimmers and smart controls

We match dimmers to the LED fixtures so they don't flicker or buzz. Smart switches often need a neutral wire in the box, and we tell you up front whether yours has one.

Outdoor and security lighting

Porch, patio, soffit and flood lights get wet-rated fixtures, sealed boxes and GFCI protection where required. Motion sensors and dusk-to-dawn photocells are an easy add.

Cleanup and testing

We patch our access holes neatly, vacuum the drywall dust and test every switch and dimmer with you before we leave.

Signs It's Time for New Lighting

  • Flickering after an LED swap

Old dimmers were built for incandescent bulbs. Paired with LEDs they flicker, hum or won't dim low. A compatible dimmer usually fixes it.

  • Dark work areas

If you cook in your own shadow or squint at the bathroom mirror, the light is in the wrong place. Under-cabinet strips or a better-placed fixture solve it.

  • Discolored or hot fixtures

Brown marks around a fixture or a cover too hot to touch point to the wrong bulb wattage or a failing fixture. Those are worth replacing before they get worse. If wiring damage turns up, our electrical repair service covers it.

  • Fans that wobble

A shaking fan is often hanging from a box never meant to hold it. That one should not wait.

  • Dark yard and entries

No light at the side gate or driveway means stumbling at night and an easy spot for trouble. Motion lights cover it without running all night.

How a Lighting Job Runs

  1. 1

    Service visit and walkthrough

We look at the rooms, the attic access and your panel. You tell us how you use the space, and we suggest fixture types and spots.

  2. 2

    Written plan and price

You get the layout, the fixture count, switch locations and the cost in writing. If you want to phase the work, we split the plan into stages you can budget for.

  3. 3

    Permits as required

When the job calls for a permit, we pull it and schedule the inspection with the local jurisdiction. You don't have to chase that paperwork.

  4. 4

    Install day

We cover floors and furniture under the work area, shut off only the circuits we need and run wire through the attic or walls. In Texas summers we do attic work early in the day, when it's safer and goes faster.

  5. 5

    Walkthrough and cleanup

We test every fixture with you, show you how the dimmers and sensors work and leave the room clean.

What Moves the Cost of Lighting Work

Lighting prices depend more on the wiring path than on the fixtures. Swapping a fixture on an existing box is quick. Adding lights where there were none takes more labor. We price each job after we've seen it, and the number is written down before we start.

New wiring versus a swap
Replacing a fixture uses the wire already there. New locations need new runs, new boxes and sometimes a new switch.
Attic and wall access
Open attic space above a single-story room is the easiest. Second-floor ceilings, low attics and finished walls take longer to fish wire through.
Fixture count and type
Six recessed lights cost more than two. Fans, heavy chandeliers and smart controls add parts and time.
Circuit capacity
If the circuit or panel is already loaded, new lighting may need its own circuit. If the panel is full, we'll explain whether a panel upgrade makes sense now or later.

Lighting Installation Questions

Something not covered here? (682) 399-7544

Can you add lights to a room that has no ceiling fixture?

Yes. We run new wire from a nearby circuit or the panel, add boxes and set a wall switch where you want it. Attic access above the room makes it simpler. We check the path during the service visit.

Can I buy my own fixtures?

Sure. Just send us the model numbers before install day so we can check the box type, weight and dimmer compatibility. If something won't work with your wiring, we'd rather know early than on the day.

Do I need a permit for new lighting?

A simple fixture swap usually doesn't. New circuits and added wiring often do, depending on the local jurisdiction. We tell you which applies and handle the permit and inspection when one is needed.

How long does a typical job take?

Swapping a few fixtures takes part of a day. A room of new recessed lights with a dimmer is usually one day. Bigger jobs across several rooms we schedule so you always have working lights at night.

Who will be doing the work?

Our licensed and insured electricians do the install. We've been in business for 5 years, and lighting is a big part of what we do in Forest Hill and the nearby towns.

Can I replace a light with a ceiling fan?

Often, yes. We check whether the box is fan-rated and secured to framing. If it isn't, we swap in a proper fan box before hanging the fan.
