Electrical Services for Your Home

Most of our work is planned, not rushed. That means panel upgrades before you add an EV charger, surge protection before storm season, and torque and cleans that catch loose connections before they heat up. We also do electrical repair when something stops working, plus lighting installation, remodel and addition wiring, and code corrections after a failed inspection. For backup power we install and service generators and home battery backup systems.

What Changes the Cost of an Electrical Job

You won't find a price list here, because jobs that sound alike seldom turn out alike. Swapping a panel in an open garage is not the same day as one behind finished drywall. These are the biggest drivers of the final number.

We see the job in person first, then hand you a written estimate broken out line by line before work begins. Want to do it in stages? We'll price each stage on its own.

How big the job is
One new circuit doesn't take long. Rewiring a whole house or putting in a new subpanel takes days and more materials.
Reaching the wiring
Garages and open attics go fast. Cramped crawl spaces, low attics and finished walls slow things down and sometimes mean patching drywall.
Existing conditions
Undersized or aging wiring, a panel with no free spaces, or earlier work done wrong can add steps before the new work begins.
The equipment you pick
EV chargers, standby generators and battery systems come in a range of sizes and brands. More capacity means a higher price, and we'll recommend the size that matches how you really use power.
Permits and the utility
Plenty of jobs need a permit and inspection. Service and panel changes can also require the utility to cut and restore power, which shapes the schedule.
When it happens
Work you plan can be booked at a time that fits both of us. Waiting for a failure often means paying for the repair on top of the upgrade you'd been delaying.

What Happens on a Job

Every job follows the same order, so nothing comes as a surprise.

  1. 1

Call us to set a visit

Let us know the problem or the project you have in mind. We pick a time to come out.

  2. 2

    We inspect and test

We go over the panel, the circuits in question and anything that seems wrong. Then we explain what we saw in plain terms, with photos if they help.

  3. 3

    A plan in writing

You get an itemized estimate split into what should happen now and what can wait. There's no rush to decide.

  4. 4

    We get the work done

If a permit is needed, we pull it. We cover your floors and keep the power off no longer than we have to. When we finish, we clean up and show you what was done.

  5. 5

    Inspection and close-out

If the job needs an inspection, we book it and are there when the inspector comes. The paperwork is yours to keep.

Why Homeowners Plan Their Work With Us

We'd rather help you spend a little on a schedule than a lot in a hurry. Here is how we work.

  1. 01

The right people in your panel

Every job is handled by licensed and insured electricians. The person working on your wiring knows the work and is covered while doing it.

  2. 02

    Experience with repeat problems

We have 5 years in business behind us. In that time we have seen the same few problems come back again and again, and we know which ones are worth fixing early.

  3. 03

    A list sorted by urgency

When we find more than one issue, we sort it for you. Safety problems go first. Things that can wait a year get noted with a rough order of priority, so you can save for them instead of being surprised.

  4. 04

    Estimates you can read

Every estimate is written out line by line. You see the parts, the labor and the permit, and you can approve part of the job now and the rest later.

  5. 05

We show you what we found

If we open a box and see scorched wire or a loose lug, we take a photo and show you. You decide with your own eyes, not just our word.

About Forest Hill Electrician

We're a small electrical company that works on homes. Most of our calls start with a homeowner who has a plan, like adding a car charger, finishing a garage or getting ready for summer, and wants to know what it will take.

Texas summers push a home's wiring hard. Air conditioners run for hours, and panels that were fine years ago start running warm. We'd rather catch that on a calm spring visit than on the hottest week of the year. So we give you an honest list, a written price and the room to plan.

Common Questions From Homeowners

Something not covered here? (682) 399-7544

Will you get the permit for my job?

If the work calls for one, yes. New circuits, panel changes, EV chargers, generators and most remodel wiring typically do. We file it and set up the inspection the way your local jurisdiction asks, and the fee appears on your estimate.

How much time does a panel swap need?

We finish most panel swaps in a single workday, and the power stays off for a good part of it. When a new meter base or work with the utility is involved, scheduling can stretch out, and we let you know that before anything is booked.

Can my garage get an EV charger?

In most homes, yes. We start by seeing if the panel has the space and capacity for a new 240-volt circuit. When it does, the job is pretty straightforward. When it doesn't, we lay out the choices, such as upgrading the panel or going with a lower-amp charger.

Why won't my breaker stay on?

The usual suspects are load, damage and age. A circuit may be carrying more than it was meant to, say a microwave and a space heater on the same line. Wire that is nicked or burned somewhere along the run will trip it too, and breakers wear out after enough years. We test the circuit to find which one it is before recommending anything, so you only pay for parts you need.

Can a large project be done in stages?

In many cases, yes. Take a panel upgrade, an EV charger and surge protection. We can typically put in the panel now and add the other two later without undoing anything. Each stage gets its own lines on the estimate, so you can pay for one part at a time.

What's worth a look before summer heat sets in?

The panel comes first. We check for breakers running warm, connections that have worked loose and marks from past overheating, and a torque and clean handles most of it. We also look at the air conditioner circuits and go over surge protection with you. The visit is short and shows you what to budget for.

What does a torque and clean involve?

As metal in your panel warms and cools over the years, connections can work loose, and loose connections get hot. In a torque and clean we tighten each connection to its rated spec and clear out dust and debris. It's an easy way to stop trouble before it starts.

Is your work under warranty?

Yes, we back our work with a 1-year workmanship warranty. If anything we put in or fixed acts up during that first year because of the way we did it, call and we'll come back and make it right. Hang on to your job paperwork so the dates are simple to confirm.
